How to break through to the life you want! -Motivational Thoughts
Aristotle, an ancient Greek philosopher would hold up an acorn and say, “it is an oak tree.” James Allen about 1903, in his book “As a Man Thinketh” said, “The oak sleeps in the acorn.” Both of them were wrong, the ability to create the oak tree is in the acorn.
The acorn has to be planted in good ground that enables the acorn to sprout and grow into an oak tree. Only then can the acorn’s ability to become an oak tree be realized.
Creating the life we want is the same way.
We all have the ability within us to create the life we want.
We all can have a life that makes us jump out of bed in the morning full of anticipation, full of energy and joy over what the day is going to bring us.
Like the acorn, which when it is planted into good ground, sprouts and becomes an oak tree. When we change our subconscious beliefs, into beliefs that support the life we want, our subconscious mind is now the good ground. Our ability to create the life we want springs forth into action.
When the ability within us springs forth, creating the life we want. We regain the joy, the happiness we had as small children. We spring out of bed in the morning full of anticipation and energy at what our day is bringing us. Our lives are filled with abundance.
The reason our life, is not the life we want:
What we think we believe is different from what we really believe. Our real beliefs are what we believe subconsciously. When we look at the life we have now, we are looking at the beliefs our subconscious mind used, to create the life we have. In other words, our life is a reflection of our real beliefs.
The life we have now, is in alignment with our subconscious beliefs.
To create the life we want, we have to change our subconscious beliefs, into beliefs that are in alignment with the life we want.
Because what we believe, is what we get.
Our beliefs created the life we have.
Because of the subconscious beliefs, we have now:
You look at your future and don’t see anything different, from what you have now. All you see is more of the same old worries, the same old problems.
You wake up in the morning and struggle to get out of bed. You are not looking forward to the day with anticipation.
We feel like we are stuck in limbo, with no way out. We don’t see a future. Just more of the same like have now.
We want a better life than that.

The only reason I could think of why I purchased the program was, going through self-improvement programs had become a way of life. Most of the offers from Nightingale-Conant I was receiving were for programs I had already purchased.
When we were children, we were full of life and wonder. But for so many of us, the child we once were is killed by the adult world of lost dreams and stagnate routine ruts.

I was organizing my self-improvement programs. When I had most of my programs together in one place, I suddenly realized, I had one heck of a lot of programs.
It was a shock. As I stared at the stacks of self-improvement programs, I realized I was a self-improvement junkie. As I stared at the stacks, I remembered several years ago, I was going through the Nightingale-Conant catalog. (Nightingale-Conant is one of the top self-improvement companies in the world).
I had bought almost every single program in the catalog. I don’t know how many tens of thousands of dollars I have spent on self-improvement programs.
One thing I really believe is the self-improvement companies somehow know exactly when I am going to finish the program I am working on. The advertisement for the next one comes and I buy it. The new program always comes two or three days
before I finish the program, I am working on. It feels like that happens every single time.
The result is, as soon as I finished the program I was working on, I started working on the new program.
I received some help by going through the program I just finished, but I never got the promised changes in my life.
I went back up the basement stairs into my office and sat down.
I sat my office thinking.
I had spent a lot of years of my life, and tens of thousands of dollars on self-improvement programs.
I had never really achieved the success I thought I would. I would do good up to a point and then just plateau, stagnate. I never had the life I dreamed of. I never had the financial security, the financial independence, I thought I would have. I felt like I was drifting along, a piece of flotsam on the River of life, going wherever it took me.
Did I want to continue taking self-improvement programs, if I wasn’t going to receive what they promised?
I needed time to think about it. I decided to hold off buying any more self-improvement programs.
I soon realized, either you are actively working to improve your life, or your life is getting worse. Change is always happening, for better or worse, in our lives. We never experience a period in our lives where nothing is changing.
Because I wasn’t actively trying to improve my life, nothing in my life was improving. I felt like I was stuck in limbo, without any idea of how to get out of it. I didn’t know how to get a sense of anticipation. I wasn’t looking forward to things with anticipation. I seemed to be just stuck in limbo, not getting much done, just stuck, stagnant and dead.
I realized that one day, one week, one month, one year, was going to be the same as the next. Just existing from day-to-day. Not having a life, I just existed.
If I didn’t make the effort to create the life I wanted, six months, a year, two years from now, life would be worse. I did not want to own up to that realization. I wanted to push it away.
I would never have the life I wanted.
That unpleasant realization, forced me to make a decision.
I made the commitment to have a life where I jumped out of bed in the morning filled with joy. Filled with the anticipation of what the day was going to bring. A life overflowing with abundance, to live the life I wanted.
I made the commitment. I would do whatever it took, to create the life I wanted.
I started searching for a comprehensive program that would release the ability to create the life I wanted.

I was going to have the life I wanted.
I started going through the program. I was making good progress, I was really learning.
I was partway through the program, when the goal setting part of the program came up. I put the goal-setting DVD in my computer. I sat back in my chair as it came up.
When the program came up, I started working on creating goals.
Suddenly, I just sit there staring at the screen. I recognized the program he was using.
After staring at the screen for a while, I got up from my chair, went into the kitchen and flipped on the basement light. I went down into the basement and started going through the stacks of self-improvement programs. I soon found it.

I had studied the program, back in the 90s. I went back upstairs and into my office. I sat in my chair looking at the program in my hands and at my computer screen.
I realized the difference between me and the person I paid the big bucks to, was when he got the program, he made it a part of his life. When he finished the program, mind mapping, instead of dropping it and studying the new program, he kept working with the program until it became a part of his life.
We don’t recognize how small the difference is between success and failure.
In the hundred-yard dash at the 1976 Olympic Games, the difference between an Olympic gold medal and last place was only 1/10 of a second.
1/10 of a second separated a person, who will always be remembered as an Olympic gold medalist, from the person who finished last. A person nobody will remember.
Both in the Olympics, and in real life, what separates the person who will always be remembered as a gold medalist, from the person nobody remembers, is usually very small.
The really successful person, stays with a program until it becomes a part of their life.
The average person drops the program before it becomes a part of their lives.
One person comes extremely close to starting a project. The wealthy person starts the project.
One person comes extremely close to completing a project. The wealthy person completes the project.
One person barely flunks the exam, another person barely passes the same exam.
The difference in their scores may be slight, but that small difference makes all the difference in the world.
An area where there is only a slight difference between two people, but a tremendous difference in what they make, is the movies.
When they make a movie, they have stand-in’s for the star actors.
The stand-in’s do the hard grueling work, while the stars do the rest.
The stand-in’s and the star actors will resemble each other very closely. The star actors may be only slightly more talented than their stand-in’s. However, there is one tremendous difference between the star actor and the understudy.
The amount of money each makes.
The star actor makes many times the salary of the stand-in.
There may be only a slight difference between the successful person and the average person. But boy can it be tough to make that break through, that creates the life we want.
We want to wake up in the morning, we want to jump out of bed full of energy, bubbling over with happiness at what the day is going to bring us. We want a life filled with abundance. A future filled with joy and anticipation.
How to create the life we want?

I realized that when I started on a program that had just came, I had quit working with the old program. The person I paid the big bucks to kept working with mind mapping, until it become a part of his life.
The difference between dropping the old program and making it a part of our life, is the difference between the successful person and the average person.
When we stay with something until it becomes a part of our life, we have changed our beliefs. Because we changed our beliefs, our life changed. Our life is reflecting our new beliefs.
As I thought about the difference between success and failure, I realized most self-improvement programs put the cart before the horse. We change our schedules, we change how we do things before we change our subconscious mind. The result is, when we start doing things differently, we meet resistance.
Is there a way to get around that resistance? If we can somehow bypass that resistance, creating the life we want would be easy. Making the break through that creates the life we want, would be easy.
How can we change our subconscious mind, so it creates the life we want, while bypassing the resistance?
When we change oursubconscious beliefs to match what we want.

I realized that Emile Coue had the answer to the question, how do we change our beliefs to match what we want? How we can bypass the resistance to change.

By putting hearing the repetition of the affirmations on automatic, we do not have to remember to listen to them. It is all automatic. That makes it easy to keep listening, until the affirmations change our subconscious mind.
Some things require creating a habit.
Several years ago, I got home and started to unlock and open my front door. I noticed the lock was loused up. I touched my front door and it swung open. I stood there bolt upright in shock. Hadn’t I locked my front door.
I walked inside and quickly saw things were missing. I had been robbed. The lock on the front door had held, but the lock on the back door didn’t. The thief had come through the back door and left through the front door.
I felt like I had been really violated.
I had an alarm system installed.
The following Friday afternoon, I drove to Salina Kansas, a 90-mile trip. At about mile 80, I suddenly realized, I didn’t set the alarm. I felt like turning back, but that would mean a 160 mile round trip. I decided against it.
All weekend, until I got back home Sunday afternoon, not setting the alarm bothered me. That deep feeling of being violated was responsible. Just writing this brings back the feeling of being violated.
Everything turned out okay, but I resolved to do something about it.
